Acne is the most common skin problem suffered by many people who are looking to ‘clear skin overnight’. Anyone from teenagers all the way to adulthood can get acne.
Yes, acne can be really annoying.

My next question will be – what kind of acne? What kind of skin condition? Logically thinking, ‘clear skin overnight’, say it works – would only work for very, very mild acne like maybe whiteheads or blackheads or very tiny pimples.
Let’s say you have a party you want to go to the next night – is there something you can do to ‘prep your face up’ to look better, more radiant ‘than usual’ just for this special night?
So to clear skin overnight in that way, for that special occasion, there are some remedies you can do at home.
Below are some remedies that will help clear your skin, and some of them will help clear skin overnight
You have always used baking soda to bake cookies and bread. Well, you can also use it to cure acne.
If you are comfortable with baking soda on your skin, baking soda can actually be helpful in regulating your skin’s pH level.
It’s easy to do this. Just take a little baking soda and mix it with some warm water to form a paste. Add the water in drops so the mixture does not get too ‘watery’ because you need to apply this paste on the skin.
Apply this paste only on the affected areas. Let it stay for just a few minutes. Then wash it off thoroughly.
An Ice Pack
Did you know that just having ice on your skin helps?
This is another very simple home remedy that they say will surely work wonders. And this is also something you would most likely already have in your freezer.
All you need to do is take a small piece of soft cloth, place some ice cubes in it, wrap it up and apply it directly on your skin for 15-20 minutes. Take a break and apply ice once again after few minutes. Take ‘breathers’ in between or it may get too cold and make your skin feel uncomfortable.
This will reduce the itching, swelling and also the inflammation. Make sure not to apply ice on those areas which is not affected by acne, as it can end up drying the area.
We can easily get turmeric here, sold in Indian shops. Yup, this is an Indian spice.
Turmeric is a popular spice used for cooking. It has anti-bacterial properties which can help fight against acne bacteria. This also helps to ease the redness, inflammation and swelling on your skin – this happens a lot with acne skin.
As external application on skin, you can mix turmeric powder with plain cold yoghurt, raw honey (raw honey is best if you want to apply on skin) or fresh lemon juice. But because this strong yellow powder can stain, you should not leave this on overnight.
Some people use this as a mask. But this mask should not stay on your skin overnight or for too long.
Turmeric can also be consumed for internal cleansing, as it is anti-bacterial and helps to purify the blood. You can drink a glass of warm water with fresh turmeric roots. In fact, you can also buy turmeric capsules or pills.
So turmeric is said to be effective to combat acne inside-out. And this is also a cheap natural ingredient.
Green Tea Powder
I like drinking green tea. So I have green tea powder and green tea bags in my kitchen cupboard.
When I get some pimples on my skin, I apply green tea powder paste on my pimples and this helps dry them up. In a couple of days, the pimples are gone.
It’s really easy. I just add drops of water to some green tea powder and apply this thick paste to my skin. Leaving this paste on overnight is okay. But if I do want to leave this on like a mask for the night – I do apply some moisturizer to my skin first.
Green tea mask can be drying but it also really depends on the type of skin you have.
But then green tea powder can be pretty expensive here. So I use this sparingly (depends on the condition of my pimples). Anyway, this next natural ingredient which is way cheaper also helps.
Vitamin C present in lemon juice has astringent properties and is immensely helpful in drying out acne. Apply the lemon juice on your skin, leave it for around 10-15 minutes and wash it off. If the lemon juice alone is too harsh for your skin (sometimes it can sting), you can dilute lime juice with some water and then apply it on the affected area.
Rose water can also be combined with lime juice and dabbed on the acne affected area to get great results.
Has anyone tried toothpaste? A friend shared this with me. Personally, I have not tried this on my pimples at all.
Anyway, toothpaste is supposed to be very helpful in getting rid of acne. It contains an antibacterial agent known as triclosan.
You simply need to apply toothpaste on those areas where acne has appeared. Leave it that way for half an hour and then wash it off with warm water. Triclosan present in the toothpaste will kill the acne bacteria.
Your skin’s redness and inflammation gets better very quickly. So she said this is like a quick remedy for very mild acne (when you need to look just better for an occasion).
This is an obvious ‘home remedy’.
Yup, just put on some make up to cover up very mild acne or pimples.
Of course, do not use just any make up product. Use skin care or make up products that are of good quality – especially oil-free or water based stuff.
Once you get back home from your ‘outing’, remember to clean away whatever you have put on your skin. Do not sleep with that stuff on your skin. No matter how tired or sleepy you are, you must clean your face thoroughly before you go off to bed.
After all that thorough cleaning, you may also need to apply light moisturizer on your skin in case it gets too dry.
Simple tips to clear skin overnight
Keep your face clean and wash it twice daily. Use water based moisturizers. Always keep your hands clean, and avoid touching your face. Drink 8-10 glasses of water every day. Avoid oily and fatty food. Exfoliate your face on a daily basis.
These simple treatments to clear skin overnight will definitely show great results. Bear in mind, these tips are for very mild skin acne or pimples. Make sure that together with following these remedies you also follow the right diet (lots of fruits and vegetables) and lifestyle habits.
